Princess Cruises has announced a second cancellation for the Regal Princess, citing the need for ongoing technical repairs on the 2014-built ship.

After initially canceling the October 27, 2024 sailing, the company confirmed today that the planned November 3, 2024 departure is also canceled.

“Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we have been unable to complete essential technical repairs, and we regret to inform you that this sailing must be cancelled,” Princess stated.

The Regal Princess had recently repositioned from Northern Europe and was set to embark on a seven-night Western Caribbean cruise from Galveston, with stops in Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico, and Roatán, Honduras.

“We know how much effort and anticipation go into planning a vacation, and we are truly sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience this change causes. Your time is valuable, and we understand how frustrating it is to have your plans disrupted,” the company added.

Impacted passengers will receive a full refund of all payments made to Princess, along with a 25% future cruise credit (FCC) as a goodwill gesture.

The FCC can be applied to new bookings made by May 31, 2025, for sailings until May 31, 2026.

Guests booked through Princess’ EZair program will automatically have their flights canceled and fully refunded, while those with independent travel arrangements are advised to reach out to their airline or travel agent directly.

Acknowledging the potential inconvenience, Princess has also offered to reimburse air change fees up to $200 per person for those with independent flights.

Citing the need for unexpected technical work on the ship, Princess originally canceled the October 27 sailing with only two days' notice.
