Viking has announced the launch of six new itineraries in Asia for 2025, featuring exclusive access to destinations in Japan and China, including Tibet (Xizang), according to a recent press release.

These journeys, which range in length from 15 to 22 days, will explore locations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Xi’an, Lhasa, and Osaka.

The itineraries are designed to focus on unique destinations and ports in China that are exclusively accessible through Viking, offering guests immersive experiences, educational lectures, and cuisine inspired by the region, according to the company.

Bookings are now open for these itineraries, which are scheduled to take place between September and November 2025 aboard the Viking Yi Dun, formerly known as the Viking Sun.

"We are proud to open our second season of these unique itineraries featuring exploration of the China coast—something that is entirely exclusive to Viking," stated Torstein Hagen, Viking's chairman and CEO. "For centuries, these phenomenal destinations in Asia have inspired travelers with ancient history and rich culture. Our guests are curious travelers who travel as a way to broaden their minds, and we look forward to introducing more of Asia to them in 2025."

The newly introduced Asia itineraries for 2025 include:

  • The 15 day Jewels of Japan and China voyage from Beijing to Tokyo
  • The 20 day Classic China Discovery voyage from Hong Kong to Beijing
  • The 22 day Wonders of China voyage, sailing roundtrip from Beijing
  • The 22 day Pearls of Japan and China voyage from Tokyo to Beijing
  • The 22 day Best of China voyage, sailing from Hong Kong to Beijing

In addition to these sailings, Viking is offering a selection of pre and post-cruise land extensions for its 2025 China itineraries, allowing travelers to further explore destinations such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Mongolia, and Tokyo.
