Denmark’s Maersk Tankers has announced the launch of a new chemical tanker pool, set to begin operations at the start of next month.

In a recent social media post, the company revealed that the new pool, called Maersk Tankers Chemicals, will officially launch on October 1st.

“Supported by existing partners and drawing on our extensive experience and expertise with chemical vessels, the new pool is designed to maximize returns for our partners’ J19 vessels,” the company stated.

The J19 vessels are stainless-steel chemical tankers with capacities ranging from 19,000 to 22,500 deadweight tons (dwt). Maersk Tankers lists five such ships on its website: Asp Lily, Asp Sunrise, Nv Athena, Nv Minerva, and Windsor.

According to Maersk Tankers, the new pool will have no minimum commitment period and will feature flexible redelivery terms. It will also offer “a seamless onboarding process and a fair and transparent earnings model.”

Currently, Maersk Tankers operates nine other pools, including Suezmax, Aframax, Panamax, LR2, LR1, MR, Handy, Intermediate, and City.
