Japan's Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) has acquired Noel Topco, a holding company based in the UK that encompasses 10 businesses, among them Global Freight Solutions Limited (GFS), which focuses on providing fulfillment services for e-commerce enterprises, covering everything from order processing to delivery.
NYK notes that the e-commerce sector in the UK ranks as the world's third largest, trailing only behind China and the US.
“The acquisition aims to add a new platform service to the NYK Group’s logistics business, thereby expanding services and differentiating the NYK Group from its competitors,” announced the Japanese firm in a statement released today.
