American Cruise Lines has announced plans to expand its fleet with the addition of a new riverboat, the American Encore, which is expected to set sail in 2026, according to the company’s website.

This 180-guest vessel is part of a three-ship order revealed earlier this year and will be the newest addition to the company’s American riverboat series.

The American Encore is scheduled to begin operations in early May 2026, with its first season dedicated to cruises along the Columbia and Snake Rivers.

Operating between Portland and Clarkston, the ship will offer seven-night itineraries that explore destinations across Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Passengers will visit eight ports, including Astoria, Kalama, The Dalles, Pendleton, and Richland.

The Encore will sail the Columbia and Snake Rivers until October 2026, alongside five other American Cruise Lines vessels scheduled to operate in the region.

This riverboat is the seventh in a series launched in 2018, which includes the American Song, American Harmony, American Jazz, American Melody, American Symphony, and American Serenade.

According to the cruise line, the Encore will feature elevator access to all decks, a multi-story glass atrium, and a distinctive bow ramp for easy boarding.

The 5,000-ton ship will have a modern design, with amenities like a fitness center and several dining options. The vessel will also introduce a new type of stateroom, the Signature Suite, which will be the largest in the company’s fleet.

In addition to the Encore, American Cruise Lines is building three new coastal vessels. The American Legend is expected to debut later this year as part of the company’s Coastal Cats class. Meanwhile, the American Patriot and American Pioneer, introducing a new ship design, are scheduled for service in 2025.
