The Alaska cruise market is gearing up for an exciting 2026 season, featuring new ship debuts, brand-first sailings, and the return of a cruise line to the region.
Among the newcomers, MSC Cruises is preparing for its first-ever Alaska season with the MSC Poesia. After relocating from Europe, the ship will operate seven-night itineraries from Seattle between May and September 2026.
Also making its Alaska debut is The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, bringing the Luminara to the region. Entering service in 2025, this 456-guest luxury yacht will sail 13 voyages to 11 ports across Alaska and Canada between May and September.
Virgin Voyages is set to launch Alaska cruises for the first time as well, deploying the Brilliant Lady. Scheduled to debut in late 2025, the ship will offer seven- to 12-night sailings from Seattle and Vancouver.
Joining these newcomers are two additional newbuilds:
- Star Princess – A sister ship to the 2024-built Sun Princess, it will first launch in the Mediterranean before heading to Alaska in May 2026 for Princess Cruises.
- Windstar Cruises’ Star Seeker – Entering service in late 2025, this ship will spend its first summer season in Alaska in 2026.
Another notable return to the region is Azamara Pursuit, marking Azamara’s comeback to Alaska after a seven-year absence.
Disney Cruise Line is also expanding its presence, with the Disney Magic joining the Disney Wonder for a season of Vancouver-based Alaska sailings.
In addition, major cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, and Cunard are planning strong deployments in Alaska for 2026, ensuring an exciting and competitive season ahead.
