Vessel Sinks Near Barangay Cabcaben: Coast Guard Responds
The Philippine Coast Guard has confirmed the sinking of a vessel in the waters near Barangay Cabcaben, Bataan.
On July 27, around 5 PM local time, the Coast Guard dispatched three vessels to the area and verified the sinking. The following day, July 28, divers from the Coast Guard conducted an underwater inspection and identified the sunken ship as the MTKR Jason Bradley. The inspection is still ongoing as divers assess the condition of the vessel.
According to the Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard Station Bataan, there was no cargo on board at the time of the sinking. The vessel's shipping company is currently preparing for a salvage operation, which is anticipated to take one to two weeks.
