On March 26, the bulk carrier Sangko Uno 66 and landing craft LCT Nicia were involved in a collision off the coast of Cavite in the Philippines.
The Sangko Uno 66 was en route to Nebu, while the LCT Nicia was headed to the Pasay Reclamation Project in Zambales Province when the incident occurred.
The Philippine Coast Guard responded quickly to the scene and confirmed that both vessels had sustained only minor damage. There were no injuries reported, and no signs of oil spills or other environmental pollution.
Authorities have instructed both ships to proceed to Manila, where the Coast Guard’s Marine Casualty Investigation team will conduct a detailed inspection and launch a formal investigation into the cause of the collision.
