On July 2, a fire broke out in one of the cargo holds of the bulk carrier Captain Ravi while it was docked at the Port of Brake in Germany. The local fire brigade, with help from the ship’s crew, quickly responded and extinguished the fire.
There were no reported injuries, and the damage to the cargo is currently being evaluated. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The Captain Ravi, a bulk carrier built in 2009, sails under the Marshall Islands flag. The 37,852-ton vessel is managed by MPP Carriers SA, Greece. It departed from the Port of Pelintung, Indonesia, on May 15.
