Liverpool Cruise Port Welcomes HMS Prince of Wales' Return
Liverpool Cruise Port has announced its support for the return of HMS Prince of Wales, marking the ship's second visit to the city.
While the port previously hosted both Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carriers—HMS Prince of Wales in 2019 and HMS Queen Elizabeth in 2022—each visit remains a unique operation requiring meticulous planning and coordination.
Liverpool Cruise Port highlighted its distinction as the only commercial port globally to have welcomed both vessels. This accomplishment reflects the team's exceptional expertise and the collaborative efforts of local stakeholders, ensuring the success of such high-profile visits.
The port expressed excitement about the arrival of HMS Prince of Wales and its role in supporting a week of community events. These activities will include STEM initiatives, mental health discussions, and public engagement, culminating in an opportunity for up to 20,000 visitors to board the ship for an educational and memorable experience.
