The search for a 66-year-old female passenger who went overboard from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Allure of the Seas has been suspended by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force after 15 hours of efforts. The passenger reportedly fell overboard on the night of October 22, approximately 17 miles off the coast of Nassau, Bahamas.

The incident took place while the Allure of the Seas was on a four-night cruise to the Bahamas, having departed on October 21. The ship began its search immediately after receiving the report that the woman had fallen overboard at around 9:40 PM on October 22.

The Royal Bahamas Defense Force, along with the U.S. Coast Guard, were quickly notified and joined the search. Additionally, Utopia of the Seas, a sister vessel, also assisted in the operation.

The Royal Bahamas Defense Force and U.S. Coast Guard deployed various resources, including an HC-144 aircraft and an MH-65 helicopter, to aid in the search. Despite these efforts, the search was called off the following afternoon after no signs of the missing passenger were found. The Defense Force suspended the operation and ceased requesting further assistance from the U.S. Coast Guard.

The Allure of the Seas has resumed its voyage with no changes to its planned itinerary and is expected to arrive in Nassau, Bahamas, on October 24.
