The Pacific Adventure departed from Sydney on March 10, 2025, for its final voyage under the P&O Cruises Australia brand. This cruise also signifies the last sailing for P&O Australia as the company prepares to shut down and transfer its fleet to Carnival Cruise Line.

The ship was originally scheduled for a four-night cruise to Moreton Island, but due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred, the itinerary was altered. Instead of sailing north, the vessel is now heading to Eden before returning to Sydney on March 14, 2025.

Following this voyage, the Pacific Adventure will undergo technical upgrades and rebranding before re-entering service later this month as Carnival Adventure, continuing to operate from Sydney.

P&O’s transition is already underway, with the Pacific Explorer handed over to Resorts World Cruises in February. Only two ships remain in the fleet, including the Pacific Encounter, which was supposed to embark on a farewell cruise from Brisbane to the South Pacific Islands. However, its final sailing was canceled due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

With port closures delaying its return, the Pacific Encounter is now expected to arrive back in Brisbane on March 11, 2025. The ship will then be refitted and rebranded before resuming operations as Carnival Encounter later this month.

The closure of P&O Cruises Australia and the integration of its fleet into Carnival Cruise Line was first announced in June 2024 as part of Carnival Corporation’s strategy to expand its highest-performing brand. The move also included the sale of the Pacific Explorer.
