On April 16, a fire broke out aboard the Maltese-flagged Ro-Ro cargo vessel Delphine while it was docked at the CLdN terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium.

The blaze started around 15:00 local time on one of the ship’s vehicle decks. Emergency response teams quickly arrived in force, supported by three tugboats. The vessel's onboard CO₂ fire suppression system was triggered, successfully depriving the fire of oxygen and helping to bring it under control.

All crew members were safely evacuated without injury, though the ship's captain stayed on board to assist in coordinating firefighting efforts and monitoring the situation.

According to the Zeebrugge Port Authority, the vessel’s internal fire safety system effectively contained the fire. Firefighters were working cautiously to open hatches and ensure the blaze was fully extinguished, while also assessing how to prevent any chance of reignition. The full extent of the damage has yet to be confirmed.

Despite the incident, overall port operations continued with little disruption. Nearby vessel movements remained active, although a ship at the adjacent LNG terminal experienced a temporary delay due to the safety zone established around Delphine.
