MOB Alert: Explorer of the Seas Seeks Missing Woman

A search is in progress for a missing woman who went overboard from the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Explorer of the Seas. The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. on the first day of The 80s Cruise, roughly 80 miles east of Miami.
The ship’s captain announced the situation over the PA system, prompting crew members to launch a speedboat in the search for the missing individual. Passengers reported that two nearby vessels have also joined the rescue effort.
“We can see spotlights in the water on multiple ships. We just had a sitewide announcement of a MOB (man overboard), and the ship is turning around and starting an active search,” one passenger reported.
Another passenger recounted, “Person overboard on Explorer of the Seas, during The 80s Cruise. Just saw a great show by Squeeze, then it was announced that a person is overboard. The ship has stopped and is actively searching. Other nearby ships are assisting.”
Eyewitnesses mentioned that the woman reportedly jumped from Deck 8 after a heated argument with her partner, prompting the crew to immediately deploy search boats.
The Explorer of the Seas is on a seven-day round-trip called The 80s Cruise that departed Miami on March 2, with its next scheduled stop in Nassau, Bahamas.
