Nassau Cruise Port (NCP) has achieved a new milestone, welcoming 5.6 million cruise passengers in 2024, surpassing its previous annual records.

In a press release, NCP highlighted that this marks the second consecutive year of record-breaking growth. In 2023, the port welcomed 4.4 million passengers, a significant rise from 3.2 million in 2022, reflecting consistent upward momentum.

In 2024, The Bahamas hosted approximately 9.1 million visitors, with 61%—or 5.6 million—arriving aboard cruise ships docking at Nassau Cruise Port.

“We are incredibly proud to reach this significant milestone for the second year in a row,” said Mike Maura Jr., CEO of Nassau Cruise Port. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our talented team, our valued partners, and the Bahamian people.”

Maura credited the success to the support of stakeholders, including the Bahamian government, cruise line partners, local businesses, and the broader community.

NCP is preparing for continued growth with plans for new developments aimed at enhancing the visitor experience and solidifying its status as a premier cruise destination.

“Our success story is far from over,” Maura added. “The future promises even more growth for The Bahamas and its residents, and more incredible Authentically Bahamian experiences for our visitors from around the world.”

Upcoming projects include improved guest transportation facilities throughout New Providence, family-friendly recreational activities, dining options, and initiatives emphasizing sustainability. The port also aims to advance downtown-focused projects to further elevate the visitor experience.
