The company behind the groundbreaking EEE container ship has now introduced the FFF.

Maersk is set to replace its current bunker fuel surcharges – the bunker adjustment factor (BAF) and the low sulphur surcharge (LSS) – with a new, combined fossil fuel fee (FFF) starting July 1.

According to the Danish carrier, this change aims to simplify the costs associated with the various fuel types required by regulations.

Existing contracts featuring BAF and LSS will remain unchanged until they come up for renewal.
