On the morning of Saturday, September 21, US federal agents boarded the Maersk Saltoro for an inspection while it was docked at the Port of Baltimore. The ship is managed by the same company as the Dali, the vessel involved in a bridge collapse in Baltimore earlier this year in March.

Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) conducted the inspection early that morning. While the FBI confirmed that the search was carried out under a court order, they declined to comment on whether it was related to the ongoing investigation involving the Dali.

Despite the thorough inspection, no immediate issues were found that would stop the Maersk Saltoro from resuming its operations, and the ship was allowed to continue shortly after.

Although the Dali and the Maersk Saltoro were built in the same shipyard in Korea and share the same design, the Saltoro has maintained a spotless record since its delivery in 2015, consistently adhering to safety and operational standards.
