On December 17, 2024, several cases of gastrointestinal illness were reported on board the cruise ship Costa Toscana.

In response, Costa Cruises swiftly enacted health protocols recommended by medical authorities to limit the spread of the illness.

Key Measures Implemented:

      In a letter to passengers, Captain Giulio Valestra expressed gratitude for their cooperation and assured them that every effort is being made to maintain a safe and healthy environment aboard the Costa Toscana.

      To further reduce the risk of spreading the illness, passengers have been advised to follow these safety guidelines:

      1. Frequent Handwashing: Passengers are urged to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the restroom, eating, drinking, or sneezing. Hand sanitizers may be used as a supplement but should not replace proper handwashing.
