Crude Oil Tanker Attacked Near Yemen: Vessel and Crew Safe

On August 8th, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operation (UKMTO) reported an attack on the crude oil tanker Delta Blue. The incident took place 45 nautical miles south of Al Mukha, Yemen.

The ship’s captain reported that the vessel came under fire from an RPG, launched by two small boats that approached the tanker. Each of these boats had four people on board.

In a recent update from UKMTO, it was revealed that the Delta Blue faced a subsequent attack involving missiles, which detonated near the ship. Fortunately, the tanker sustained no damage, and the crew remains safe. The vessel has continued on its journey and is currently en route to its next destination.

Delta Blue is a crude oil tanker registered under the Liberian flag. It is owned and operated by Delta Tankers Ltd, based in Greece. According to data, the tanker set sail from Al Basrah on July 31st.
