Vessel Hits Bridge in Guangzhou Causing Collapse

Earlier this morning (Thursday) a Chinese container barge was seen to have slammed into the Lixinsha Bridge which crosses the Pearl River in the Southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.
A section of the bridge collapsed, causing vehicles that were crossing the bridge at the time of the incident to plummet into the water below. The number of casualties is not currently known.
According to reports, the barge was en route to Nansha in Guangzhou, having left the Nanhai district in Foshan, China. The vessel’s master has been arrested.
