A container vessel, the ONE Hammersmith, encountered engine issues on the afternoon of September 27 while en route from Singapore to Rotterdam. The problem arose as the ship was navigating through the Ushant Traffic Separation Scheme.

After the engine malfunction, the ship was left drifting for several hours while talks were held with maritime authorities. These discussions led the Atlantic Maritime Prefect to formally instruct the ship's owners to request help from the tugboat Abeille Bourbon.

By the evening of September 27, the Abeille Bourbon had secured the ship and towed it to Douarnenez Bay, where they arrived the morning of September 28. Another tug assisted in anchoring the ship, which as of September 29, remains anchored.

The ONE Hammersmith is expected to resume its voyage to Rotterdam once repairs are completed.
