Carnival Cruise Line Australia has introduced new Grinch-themed experiences for its second annual ‘Grinchmas in July’ sailings, starting this month. Notably, this year marks the first appearance of the Grinch’s friend, Max, on a cruise ship, as stated in a recent press release.

For the second consecutive year, the Grinch-themed cruises will blend “Christmas in July” traditions with Dr. Seuss-themed fun on the Carnival Splendor, which will be fully decorated for four special sailings.

For the first time, Grinch’s dog Max will join as a special guest onboard. Guests can enjoy exclusive meet-and-greet sessions and a special reading of "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" in the kids club.

Additionally, a sparkling Christmas tree adorned with artificial snow will be illuminated on the Splendor. This year’s Grinchmas sailings will also feature Carnival’s “Holiday Show,” showcasing singers, dancers, and a surprise guest from the North Pole.

Carnival Cruise Line VP Kara Glamore commented: “We’re counting down the days to Grinchmas in July and couldn’t be more excited to bring back the FUN of a wintery Christmas experience to our Aussie guests. This year, we’ve upped the Grinch-ified offerings that our guests are bound to fall in love with, on top of the 45 activities they’ve already come to know and love on a Carnival cruise. We can’t wait to share these merry moments with everyone onboard this winter.”

Other festive activities include a Grinchmas “Who-Liday Deck Party” with an all-green dress code, Grinchmas Family Games, a Grinchmas Scavenger Hunt, and themed arts and crafts. New themed food and beverage options will be available, such as the “Cindy-Lou Who” mocktail, “Mistletoe Martini,” and “Grinchmas Long Lunch at Sea.”

This year’s events will also feature special appearances by the Grinch, the ‘Jingle Bell Jam’ soundtrack, caroling, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and an ugly Christmas sweater competition.
