Captain Kate McCue Leaves Celebrity Cruises for New Horizons

Captain Kate McCue recently took to Instagram to share that she is stepping down from her role at Celebrity Cruises.

In her post, the American captain reflected on her remarkable journey:

“I’ve spent the last 22 years on 11 ships in the Royal Caribbean Group, from 2nd Officer to Captain. I have seen some of the most beautiful places, met inspiring and wonderful people, and had opportunities to live my 12 year-old dream out loud!”

She added that the video she shared captures a few moments for which she will remain eternally grateful, cherishing the memories and the people who have made a lasting impact on her life:

“This video serves as a small glimpse into moments that am forever grateful for. It is memories of those who made an impact on this journey and who will live forever in my heart.”

McCue explained that recent significant changes in her life influenced her decision to leave Celebrity Cruises. However, she reassured her followers about her future at sea:

“Are my sailing days over? Absolutely not! I’ve got too much salt in my veins to leave the sea behind. So consider this…the start of the Captain’s Log: New Seasons!”
