Australian authorities have reported a significant drug seizure at Botany Port, Australia.

In July, following an anonymous tip received through the US Homeland Security Investigation (HSI), the Australian Federal Police (AFP) initiated Operation Alstonville to intercept the illicit drug shipment.

On July 22, the Australian Border Force intercepted a shipping container at Botany Port. This container, which had arrived from the United States, contained two industrial machines. Hidden within these machines were packets of drugs valued at approximately $540 million (Australian $828 million). Tests confirmed that the powdered substance was methamphetamine.

On July 31, after the drugs were removed, the machines were delivered to their intended destination in Warwick Farm, a suburb of Sydney, Australia.

Two individuals observed examining and attempting to open the container using a forklift were promptly arrested by Australian authorities. These men were charged with attempting to possess a commercial quantity of illegal border-controlled drugs.

Search warrants were executed at the Warwick Farm property, a home in Minto, and a vehicle as part of the investigation.

The investigation into this drug bust is ongoing, with further arrests anticipated.
