Aurora Expeditions Plans First All-Women Antarctica Cruise

Australian expedition cruise company Aurora Expeditions has announced the launch of its first-ever all-female voyage to Antarctica, setting sail in 2027. This groundbreaking journey, titled the Antarctic Women’s Expedition, will offer an adventurous and empowering experience for women eager to explore one of the most remote and awe-inspiring regions on the planet.
Scheduled to run from February 23 to March 4, 2027, the 10-day expedition is tailored for women seeking a transformative travel experience alongside fellow female explorers. Aurora Expeditions, renowned for its intimate, small-group adventures, shared that the voyage will be led entirely by an experienced all-women expedition team.
“This expedition is designed for adventurous women who share a passion for exploration and a desire to connect with like-minded travelers,” Aurora Expeditions said.
The journey begins in Punta Arenas, Chile, where guests will fly to King George Island before boarding the Sylvia Earle, the company’s cutting-edge expedition vessel. Named after the legendary marine biologist and explorer, the ship accommodates up to 130 passengers and offers a range of features designed for both comfort and discovery.
Amenities include a heated outdoor saltwater pool, whirlpools, a wellness center complete with a gym and sauna, and an onboard education program focused on polar science, climate change, and marine ecology.
The Antarctic Women’s Expedition is part of a growing movement toward women-only travel experiences, providing a unique opportunity to journey to the ends of the Earth with a supportive community of bold, like-minded women.
