Wärtsilä Debuts Remote Ops Tech on Sun Princess Cruise Ship

Wärtsilä ANCS has completed the first installation of its NACOS Connect remote mimics application aboard Princess Cruises’ Sun Princess, marking a significant step forward in shipboard technology. This innovative system enhances real-time oversight and enables remote management capabilities from shore.
The NACOS Connect solution transmits data from the ship’s integrated automation systems to shoreside operators. It allows for live monitoring of automation interfaces and supports onboard operations remotely in real-time. This improves overall efficiency and enables quicker response to incidents at sea.
This deployment is the result of a partnership agreement between Wärtsilä and Princess Cruises, originally signed in 2021.
The Sun Princess is the first ship in Princess Cruises’ new Sphere class and represents a leap forward in both design and sustainability. Powered by LNG, the 2024-built vessel sails under the Bermuda flag. It measures 345.5 meters in length and 48 meters in width, with a gross tonnage of 177,882.
