Japan’s Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has been connected to a recent order for a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) placed in South Korea.

On Tuesday, Hanwha Ocean, a company with 12 FSRU projects to its name, announced securing a new contract from an unnamed Asian client. Industry insiders suggest the Tokyo-based shipping giant, MOL, is behind the $413 million deal.

The FSRU is scheduled for delivery by October 2027 and will enter a long-term charter with Singapore LNG, a state-controlled terminal operator.

Earlier this year, MOL also signed an agreement with Polish gas operator Gaz-System for another FSRU, to be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and expected to be completed by 2027.
