Explosion Aboard BBC Vermont Claims Life of Crew Member

A crew member tragically lost their life following an explosion aboard a general cargo vessel named the BBC Vermont.
The incident occurred on September 18 while the ship was approximately 490 nautical miles off the Scilly Isles, UK.
Built in 2008, the BBC Vermont is a 9,625-gross-ton vessel, registered under the flag of Antigua and Barbuda. It measures 138.5 meters in length and has a beam of 21 meters.
At the time of the explosion, the ship was en route to Montoir, France, with an expected arrival date of September 22.
