Viking Cruises' ship, Orion, marked its first visit to Kobe on April 19, 2024, as part of its extensive Grand Pacific Explorer voyage.

The Orion began the 92-night journey on February 13, setting sail from Auckland, New Zealand. Following its departure from Kobe, the cruise ship continued its tour to Shimizu, Japan.

Post its stint in Asia, the Orion is scheduled to journey through Alaska, visiting locations like Ketchikan and Hubbard Glacier, culminating the trip in Vancouver, Canada on May 14.

In a recent announcement from the port, Viking Cruises is also planning to launch six additional sailings originating from Kobe later in the year.
