Royal Caribbean International has announced that its newest ship, Star of the Seas, will offer a variety of vacation experiences departing from Port Canaveral, Florida, starting in August 2025, according to a press release.

The Star of the Seas is set to impress with features like the fastest and tallest waterslides at sea, over 40 dining and drinking options, and unique excursions to destinations such as Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas.

Noteworthy attractions include the Lincoln Park Supper Club, offering a 1930s Chicago-themed dining experience, the expansive Category 6 waterpark, seven pools, and The Hideaway, an adults-only area with a suspended infinity pool.

Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, remarked, “Star of the Seas is the second bold act of this exciting, new era of vacations first introduced with Icon of the Seas, and it’s putting the world’s best vacation on the map at yet another top travel destination.”

He added that the ship will offer an unparalleled vacation experience that combines beach retreats, resort escapes, and theme park adventures, creating unforgettable memories for years to come.

The Star of the Seas will feature eight distinct neighborhoods, with Royal Caribbean highlighting the following five in their announcement:

AquaDome: Offering panoramic ocean views, the AquaTheater hosts shows with high divers, aerialists, robots, dancers, and more. Dining options include the AquaDome Market and The Overlook bar.

Thrill Island: Home to the Category 6 waterpark, boasting six waterslides, the Crown’s Edge skywalk and thrill ride, the FlowRider surf simulator, and mini golf.

Chill Island: A three-level area with four pools, including Royal Bay, the largest pool at sea, and the swim-up bar Swim & Tonic.

The Hideaway: An adults-only beach club 135 feet above the ocean, featuring a suspended infinity pool, DJ, bar, and whirlpools.

Surfside: A family-friendly area featuring water play zones for children and dining options like Surfside Eatery and The Lemon Post bar.

In addition to these new features, the Star of the Seas will include reimagined favorites like the Royal Promenade with ocean views, the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture, and over 15 dining and entertainment options.

The ship will also offer an exclusive Suite Neighborhood for guests seeking a premium experience.

The Star of the Seas will join the newly-launched Utopia of the Seas at Port Canaveral, providing travelers with options for weeklong Caribbean cruises or shorter three- to four-night getaways to the Bahamas.

The Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island in The Bahamas is also set to debut in late 2025, further enhancing Royal Caribbean’s range of destination experiences.
