Saint Lucia Welcomes Nautica’s First Visit with Celebrations
Saint Lucia Cruise Port (SLCP) hosted the inaugural visit of Oceania Cruises' Nautica on November 13, 2024, as announced in a press release.
The occasion was celebrated with a traditional plaque exchange ceremony onboard the ship.
The ceremony was attended by Ann-Margaret Adams, deputy permanent secretary for the Ministry of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture, and Information; representatives from Cox & Company, the ship’s port agent; and officials from the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority.
The Nautica arrived with 628 passengers and 399 crew members.
Denise Mauricette, maritime officer at the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority, expressed appreciation to the MS Nautica team for including Saint Lucia in their itinerary. She also encouraged visitors and crew to discover the island’s wide variety of attractions.
Deputy Permanent Secretary Ann-Margaret Adams highlighted Saint Lucia’s vibrant culture and invited passengers to immerse themselves in its unique heritage and attractions.
Racquel Preville, marketing and communications manager for SLCP, welcomed the Nautica’s captain and crew while emphasizing the strong partnership between the cruise port and the Government of Saint Lucia.
“Our transformative project is designed to deliver sustainable economic growth for the entire cruise community—from local retail and food vendors to tour operators and beyond,” said Preville.
“With these upcoming changes, we are committed to enhancing our services, diversifying our offerings, and providing a more exciting and rewarding experience for passengers and crew.”
Captain Milosavljevic concluded the event by thanking the hosts for their warm welcome and expressing excitement about exploring the island alongside his crew.
