Ports of Shanghai & Barcelona Collude on Innovative Projects

The ports of Shanghai and Barcelona have signed an agreement to explore collaboration opportunities in innovative projects, focusing on knowledge exchange in the port, maritime, and logistics fields, the implementation of new projects, and advancing shipping decarbonization.

The agreement highlights the crucial role of ports in global trade and the necessity of cooperation to develop efficient and resilient services. 

To achieve this, the Spanish and Chinese ports will promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences on innovation, standardization of digital processes, and the development of SMART ports. 

Additionally, the ports have agreed to share projects aimed at sustainability and decarbonization of port activities.

This cooperation will materialize through various initiatives, including joint training projects in areas such as port management, digitalization, carbon footprint reduction, development of green corridors, and enhancing security.
