Port of Santos Prepares for 152 Cruise Calls in 2024-25 Season
The Port of Santos in Brazil is gearing up for the 2024-25 cruise season, with 152 expected ship calls from 14 different vessels starting November 8, 2024.
According to a statement from the Santos Port Authority (SPA), over one million passengers are anticipated to pass through the port, marking a significant milestone for the second consecutive season.
“The cruise sector boosts tourism and benefits the commerce, hospitality, and services sectors in Santos,” said SPA President Anderson Pomini.
Running until April 2025, Santos will serve as the homeport for six vessels, including four from MSC Cruises and two from Costa Cruises. Additionally, seven ships will make transit stops, many on longer international journeys.
The MSC Seaview will make the most frequent calls, with 40 scheduled visits. Meanwhile, the MSC Grandiosa, the largest passenger ship to sail Brazilian waters, will also return to Santos. Joining them will be the MSC Splendida and MSC Armonia, both homeporting in Santos.
The Costa Diadema and Costa Pacifica will also operate from the port, with the MSC Orchestra set for two homeport rotations.
Among the transit calls, the Majestic Princess will stand out, marking Princess Cruises' return to Santos after an eight-year absence. The port will also welcome Villa Vie Residence’s Odyssey as part of its extensive three-and-a-half-year world voyage.
Other cruise lines expected to visit Santos this season include Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Crystal, and Nicko Cruises.
A special highlight of the season will be the New Year’s celebration aboard the Costa Pacifica, which will anchor off Santos’ waterfront for a fireworks display to ring in 2025.
