Iceland ProCruises has officially launched its 2024 program. The Seaventure set sail from Reykjavik on June 1, marking the beginning of the season.

This initial voyage features an eight-night cruise around Iceland, providing guests the opportunity to explore unique landscapes rarely found elsewhere, according to Iceland ProCruises.

The itinerary not only highlights natural wonders but also immerses passengers in Iceland's culture, history, and local communities, the company stated.

The cruise will visit several destinations, including Snaefellsnes Peninsula, Isafjordur, Husavik, Vestmannaeyjar, and Djupivogur, before returning to Reykjavik on June 9.

Following this inaugural trip, the Seaventure will continue offering exploration cruises around Iceland as part of its 2024 schedule.

In late July, the 164-passenger expedition ship will begin longer cruises to additional locations, such as the 11-day “Natural Wonder of Greenland” itinerary.

Departing from Reykjavik to Kangerlussuaq on July 19, this one-way journey includes stops at Ammassalik Island, Prince Christian Sound, Qeqertarsuatsiaat, Nuuk, and Disko Bay.

Another new offering, the eight-day “Adventure West Greenland” itinerary, will commence on July 29. This roundtrip cruise from Kangerlussuaq will visit seven Greenland destinations, including Iginniarfik, Uummannaq, Aasiat, and Itilleq.

Iceland ProCruises noted that these ports of call include remote areas accessible only by zodiac, showcasing numerous off-the-beaten-path natural highlights.

The Seaventure, owned by river cruise operator Scylla, operates under a charter agreement with Iceland ProCruises. The expedition vessel, purpose-built for Arctic itineraries, boasts one of the highest ice classes for passenger ships.

Originally launched in 1990 as the Bremen for Hapag-Lloyd, the 6,700-ton ship also serves Antarctic cruises for Polar Latitudes.
