On Friday, November 8, the Port of Funchal hosted a trio of cruise ships, including the Explora II making its debut visit, along with the Costa Pacifica and MSC Poesia.

According to a port statement, the three vessels brought in more than 8,000 visitors.

The Explora II is currently on a 17-night transatlantic journey from Barcelona to Miami. Funchal was its second stop, and the ship is scheduled to make multiple visits throughout the winter season before a repositioning voyage to Europe on March 25.

The Costa Pacifica, currently on a transatlantic itinerary that began on November 2 in Savona, had earlier stops in Barcelona and Tangier before reaching Funchal. Its next destinations include Tenerife, Cape Verde, and several Brazilian ports such as Recife, Maceió, Salvador da Baía, Rio de Janeiro, and Santos, where it will remain stationed for the upcoming months.

The MSC Poesia carried out a partial turnaround in Funchal, disembarking 320 passengers and embarking 308. The ship arrived from the Canary Islands with 2,477 guests and made an eight-hour stop in Madeira before heading to southern Spain. MSC Poesia is on a five-night cruise with stops planned in Malaga, Marseille, and Genoa, where it is scheduled to arrive on November 13.
