Ponant Unveils New French Riviera Sailing Adventure in 2026

Ponant Explorations has announced an exciting new itinerary set to debut in the French Riviera in 2026, according to a recent press release.

This eight-day journey along the Côte d’Azur will take place aboard the company’s three-masted sailing yacht, Le Ponant. The ship will follow a scenic eastbound route that includes a stop in the picturesque fishing village of Portofino, Italy.

“This intimate new Mediterranean voyage onboard Le Ponant embodies Ponant Explorations’ enduring spirit of authentic sailing adventures,” the company stated.

Departing roundtrip from Nice, the cruise will visit Menton, Antibes, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez, offering travelers a chance to experience some of the region’s most iconic coastal towns.

The itinerary, scheduled for departure in May 2026, also features a visit to the lesser-known port of Cassis, adding a unique highlight to the voyage.

Following an extensive renovation by Jean-Philippe Nuel Studio, Le Ponant accommodates just 32 guests and boasts upscale amenities, including an outdoor bar, spa, and Mediterranean-inspired restaurant.

Guests onboard will have access to a variety of aquatic activities, such as glass-bottomed kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, snorkeling gear, and a saltwater pool, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the Mediterranean waters.

Ponant has curated exclusive onshore excursions for this itinerary, featuring visits to some of the Riviera’s most celebrated cultural and historical sites. The tours follow in the footsteps of Picasso and Bardot, with stops at Portofino’s cliff-top lighthouse and the historic old town of Antibes.

As part of its recent refurbishment, Le Ponant saw all passenger areas redesigned, offering a fresh, modernized look. The 88-meter vessel now provides a 1:1 staff-to-guest ratio, ensuring an exclusive and personalized experience for travelers.

The “French Riviera Under Le Ponant’s Sails” cruise is scheduled to set sail from Nice on May 12, 2026, with fares starting at $12,220 per guest.
