A passenger on an MSC Cruises ship hosting a corporate charter for MAG Seguros passed away on January 9 due to a sudden illness. The MSC Orchestra had departed Rio de Janeiro the evening before, embarking on a voyage to celebrate MAG Seguros' 190th anniversary. MAG Seguros specializes in Life Insurance and Pension Funds.

Despite the prompt response of the ship’s medical team, the individual, a member of the host company, could not be saved. Following the incident, all scheduled celebrations were canceled, and the ship returned to Rio de Janeiro that afternoon.

MAG Group expressed profound sorrow over the tragedy, extending their condolences and support to the family and colleagues of the deceased. In a statement the organization said:

"It is with great sadness that the MAG Group confirms the death of one of its employees during a celebratory cruise. The employee suffered a sudden illness and was treated immediately by the medical team present, but unfortunately did not survive. Our commitment to people and respect for life are intrinsic to the values of this company, and for this reason the planned festivities have been canceled. We deeply regret what happened, and we will continue to show our solidarity and offer full support to the family, friends, partners and other employees of our group."
