Overweight Fees Announced by CMA CGM for South America

The French shipping company CMA CGM has introduced a new overweight surcharge (OWS), set to take effect from April 1, 2024, and will remain in place until further notice.
This additional fee will apply to shipments originating from the East Coast of South America and heading to destinations including North Europe, Scandinavia, Poland, the Baltic States, the Adriatic, the Black Sea, both the East and West Mediterranean, the Middle East Gulf, the Red Sea, and Pakistan.
For any dry 20ft container that has a gross weight exceeding 18 tons, CMA CGM will impose a charge of US$150.
