New Warehouse Facility in Mexico for Maersk
Maersk has recently launched a new logistics center spanning 30,000m² in Tijuana, Mexico, aimed at enhancing cross-border trade for clients in sectors such as technology, automotive, retail, and lifestyle.
Located in the Prisma XII section of the Pacifico Industrial Park in Baja California, this facility leverages Tijuana's key role in trade between the US and Mexico.
The center's advantageous location, close to significant ports like Los Angeles/Long Beach and Ensenada and merely 15 km and 20 km away from the Otay and San Ysidro Commercial Ports respectively, supports efficient cross-border logistics.
This facility operates under the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Services Industry (IMMEX) program, providing a range of services such as sorting, warehousing, cross-docking, inventory control, and added-value services including labeling, packing, and fulfilling orders. It is also equipped for e-commerce deliveries, complying with the Section 321 Shipment Type.
It has earned the LEED Gold certification for its eco-friendly features, which include solar panels on the roof, entirely electric handling equipment, LED lighting, and sophisticated waste management practices.
Patricia Perez Salazar, Maersk’s managing director for Mexico, emphasized the strategic importance of the facility, "With a focus on IMMEX program services, inventory control, and seamless cross-border integration, we're positioned to capitalize on the manufacturing landscape in Mexico and our commitment to delivering unparalleled service to our customers. By strategically leveraging our new warehouse in Tijuana, tailored to the complexities of cross-border trade, we're better positioned to provide our customers in the region truly integrated logistics solutions."
