Mitsui Ocean Cruises has revealed its lineup of shore excursions for its debut season, as the company enters the 90-day countdown to the launch of its first vessel, the Mitsui Ocean Fuji.

The Japan-based company, which operates under MOL Cruises, announced that the tours will take passengers to destinations like Beppu, Hiroshima, and Kochi, offering guests a rich cultural experience.

Mitsui Ocean Cruises highlighted that the Fuji will represent "Funtabi," promising guests meaningful connections with Japan’s beauty and culture.

The 458-passenger ship, previously part of the Seabourn fleet, is scheduled to begin service on December 1, 2024, marking a new chapter for the brand.

The shore excursions are designed to immerse travelers in authentic local experiences, focusing on nature, heritage, and refined cuisine. "As we celebrate the 90-day countdown to the official launch of our new luxury ship, we’re incredibly proud of our enhanced shore excursions program created in partnership with local experts and tourism boards," said Sae Ichikawa, Destination Experience General Manager at Mitsui Ocean Cruises.

"We are truly excited to offer unforgettable experiences through the unique tours that only the Mitsui Ocean Fuji can offer. We hope that these tours will allow guests to deeply experience the culture and history of each region and foster warm connections and new relationships with people met along the way."

Guests with confirmed bookings will receive detailed brochures and booking forms via mail, or they can make reservations through the Cruise Desk online. Once on board, passengers may also book excursions at the Front Desk, subject to availability.

The excursion program includes destinations throughout Japan and South Korea, such as Beppu, Hiroshima, Kagoshima, Kochi, Nagasaki, Shingu, Shimonoseki, and Matsuyama, as well as Busan and Jeju Island in South Korea.

The Mitsui Ocean Fuji will embark on its maiden voyage on December 1, 2024, featuring a series of cruises departing from Yokohama, Tokyo, and Kobe.
