Swedish shipping firm Furetank has successfully finished its inaugural bunkering operation, supplying 200 tonnes of ISCC-certified Bio-LNG.

The fueling event occurred off Mongstad, Norway, where the 17,945 dwt tanker Fure Viken was loaded with eco-friendly fuel.

This effort supports adherence to the FuelEU Maritime Regulation, which requires a 2% decrease in the greenhouse gas intensity of vessel fuel by 2025.

In collaboration with environmental commodity trader STX Group and Molgas, Furetank executed the bunkering process. STX Group and Molgas managed the procurement, liquefaction, and transport of the Bio-LNG, ensuring compliance with the EU Renewable Energy Directive (REDII).

This operation also marked the first instance of Molgas delivering mass-balanced Bio-LNG to a maritime client in Norway.
