Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has revealed details of a new 98-night global voyage, titled Around the World with Hawaii and Japan, set to depart Southampton in January 2027.

The journey will take place aboard Borealis, leaving port on January 21, 2027. The itinerary includes a four-day stopover in Hawaii and visits to five Japanese ports, timed to avoid the high season and align with the late plum blossom bloom. Passengers can also look forward to whale watching opportunities in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Hawaii, along with witnessing the Symphony of Lights show in Hong Kong.

Other notable destinations on the itinerary include Pearl Harbor, Singapore’s famous Gardens by the Bay, and a safari experience in South Africa to spot the 'Big Five.' The ship will also pass through the Panama Canal, offering a connection between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.

“This is a truly special voyage of discovery and one that we have had great fun in curating, designed especially to showcase iconic landmarks, diverse cultures and natural wonders across some world-renowned cities and wonderful hidden gems,” said Martin Lister, head of product innovation at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines.

“An undoubted highlight will be the extended call into Japan, at a time of year when there will be fewer crowds and the chance to witness the beauty of the late plum blossom season. With five ports of call, guests can explore many ancient castles and temples, take in breathtaking views of Mount Fuji, ride the bullet train in Osaka and join us for a maiden call into Shimizu.”

“Later, a four-day call to Hawaii will allow ample time to explore the archipelago’s volcanic landscapes, pristine beaches and lush rainforests, embrace the spirit of Aloha at a traditional Luau and sample delicious local cuisine.”

Travellers who book the cruise by May 7, 2025, will benefit from Fred. Olsen’s Freedom Fare Price Promise. This offer ensures the best available price or provides a cabin upgrade or onboard credit if the fare drops within four weeks of booking.

All passengers on this extensive world journey will also enjoy inclusive pricing that covers entertainment, meals, house beverages, shuttle buses to fitness classes, pot fees and crew gratuities.

Prices for the “Around the World with Hawaii and Japan” voyage start at £11,499 per person.
