The chief executive officer of semisub rig operator Dolphin Drilling has officially resigned from his position.

Bjørnar Iversen’s resignation takes effect immediately. He had been leading the company since July 2019. Prior to joining Dolphin Drilling, Iversen served as CEO of Songa Offshore and held various senior positions at Odfjell Drilling.

Jon Oliver Bryce has been appointed as interim CEO. Currently serving as chief strategy officer, Bryce has over three decades of experience in the drilling sector. His previous leadership roles include positions at Awilco Drilling and Odfjell Drilling.

With a background in mechanical engineering, Bryce also sits on the supervisory board of the UK Chamber of Shipping and serves as chairman of the British Rig Owners Association.

“We would like to thank Bjørnar for his contributions to the company over the last six years and wish him well with his future endeavours,” said Martin Nes, chairman of Dolphin Drilling’s board of directors.
