Carnival Cruise Line kicked off Halloween by turning Sydney’s Overseas Passenger Terminal into a spooky haunted mansion, hosting a “Trick or Treat” event to launch their celebrations.

According to a press release, over 3,000 costumed guests joined the event, choosing to “trick,” showcasing Halloween stunts to win prizes, or “treat,” receiving candy rewards, before boarding the Carnival Splendor.

“This is one of the most exciting Halloween activations we’ve ever hosted,” stated Kara Glamore, vice president, Carnival Cruise Line Australia.

“Our guests bring so much energy and creativity to our Halloween cruises, and this year we decided to take the fun beyond the ship to kick off the celebrations before they even set sail.”

For the Halloween cruises throughout October, the Carnival Splendor stocked over 1,000 kilograms of candy. Onboard activities included costume contests, themed dance parties, encounters with Patch the Pumpkin Pirate, Halloween trivia and bingo games, spooky movie screenings, and pumpkin-carving contests, ensuring a full Halloween experience for all guests.
