A global marine claims management and recovery firm has reported that on February 4, the general cargo vessel Hav Nordic ran aground near Bergsoya Island, Norway.
The incident resulted in rudder damage, water ingress into ballast tanks, and caused the vessel to list to port.
A nearby vessel remained on standby at the site until a rescue boat arrived to provide assistance. Later that day, Hav Nordic was successfully refloated with the help of the rescue team and subsequently towed to Mjolstadneset, Norway.
The Hav Nordic, built in 1990, sails under the Faroe Islands flag. The vessel has a carrying capacity of 3,013 tonnes, an overall length of 74.65 meters, and a width of 12.7 meters.
