The entire crew of a Chinese fishing trawler, consisting of eight individuals, tragically lost their lives following a collision with a container ship operated by SITC Container Lines.

The maritime search and rescue center of Hainan Island, China, reported yesterday (April 10) that the bodies of all crew members aboard the trawler have been recovered, a week after the incident occurred off the southwestern coast of the island.

The fishing vessel, identified as Yuenan Aoyu 36062, had overturned as a result of the collision.

Search and rescue operations over the last week involved naval divers and personnel from the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau. The sixth body was located near the wreckage around 8.10 pm local time on April 9. The final two bodies were found this morning around 11 am local time, inside the cabin of the overturned trawler.
