Ambassador Cruise Line Unveils Exciting Entertainment Plans
Ambassador Cruise Line has announced three fresh entertainment initiatives set to roll out in the coming months, according to a recent press release.
The lineup includes a “Back to the 80s” themed cruise aboard the Benelux Coastal Explorer, a new rock-and-roll-inspired theater production called Retro Rock Rebellion, and a playwriting competition to spotlight emerging talent in the UK.
The “Back to the 80s” voyage will depart from London Cruise Terminal in Tilbury on May 1, 2025. This four-night sailing on the Ambience promises a nostalgic experience with themed cabaret shows, retro menus, costume contests, and 80s-inspired workout classes.
Performances by Cheryl Baker and Jay Aston of The Fizz, alongside Toyah Wilcox, will headline the entertainment. The itinerary includes stops in Zeebrugge, Belgium, and Ijmuiden, Netherlands. Prices for Saver Fares start at £539 per person.
Set to debut in December 2024, Retro Rock Rebellion will transform the Ambition with a rock-and-roll atmosphere. The show, set in a fictional American biker bar, will feature performers channeling aspiring rock stars.
The Ambassador PEEL Playwriting Challenge 2025, developed in partnership with PEEL Entertainment Group, opens for submissions on January 15, 2025.
The contest invites playwrights to submit original scripts for a chance to have their work performed as part of the Theatre@Sea program.
Shortlisted entries will be staged aboard Ambassador ships, with the winning playwright receiving a £6,000 cash prize and a complimentary cruise for two in 2026. Submissions close on April 4, 2025, and the winner will be announced in December 2025.
