Allure of the Seas: Refit and Mediterranean Season Ahead

The Allure of the Seas arrived in Europe last weekend, setting the stage for a scheduled drydock refurbishment and a summer deployment in the Mediterranean.
After finishing a trans-Atlantic voyage, the Royal Caribbean International ship docked in Barcelona on February 22, 2025. Following its departure from Miami earlier this month, the vessel embarked on a 12-night repositioning cruise that included stops at various Spanish ports.
Besides Barcelona, the itinerary featured visits to Palma de Mallorca and Cartagena before returning to Barcelona. The ship, built in 2010, is now set to enter drydock for a significant refurbishment as part of the Royal Amplified refit program.
According to Royal Caribbean, the enhancements will include the creation of new suites and the introduction of the signature Ultimate Abyss slide.
The 220,000-ton vessel will also debut new dining venues and bars, an upgraded pool deck, and refreshed family-friendly areas. In line with other Oasis-class ships, it will incorporate The Perfect Storm—a trio of waterslides that features Cyclone, the Typhoon racing slides, and the SuperCell, a champagne bowl designed for extra twists and turns.
Once the refurbishment is complete, the Allure of the Seas will kick off its summer schedule in the Western Mediterranean. The ship’s itinerary includes a series of seven-night cruises to destinations in Spain, Italy, and France, with ports such as Palma de Mallorca, Naples, and Marseille. Cruises will depart from Barcelona and Civitavecchia, running through late October.
After crossing the Atlantic, Allure is scheduled to arrive in Fort Lauderdale for the 2025-26 winter season in early November. During the winter period, the ship will offer six- and eight-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas, with most itineraries featuring a stop at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
