An offshore supply vessel, MTS Terramare, ran aground at Newgale Beach on January 14 following an engine failure. Fortunately, no crew injuries or environmental pollution have been reported.

The incident occurred while the ship was conducting cable operations in St. Brides Bay near Newgale Beach in Pembrokeshire, Wales. After losing engine power, the vessel began drifting.

The challenging weather conditions, combined with a high tide and five-foot waves, forced the ship onto the pebbled shore.

HM Coastguard was immediately notified, and the RNLI lifeboat Norah Wortley was dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, rescuers confirmed the ship was firmly aground and that the crew had already reached safety ashore. The lifeboat subsequently returned to base.
