Windstar Cruises has announced the launch of Basil + Bamboo, a new addition to its lineup of complementary specialty dining venues.

According to a company press release, this new offering reflects Windstar’s dedication to delivering exceptional culinary experiences for its guests.

Combining elements of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine, Basil + Bamboo provides a unique and vibrant dining alternative for onboard guests.

After making its debut on Star Breeze this month, Basil + Bamboo will gradually be introduced to the rest of Windstar’s fleet in 2025, replacing Cuadro 44.

The restaurant will also be one of the featured dining experiences aboard the Star Seeker, Windstar’s newest yacht, set to launch in December.

With limited seating, Basil + Bamboo offers an intimate dining setting where guests can enjoy a fusion of flavors.

“As the Official Cruise Line of the James Beard Foundation, we remain committed to enhancing our dining options. The introduction of Basil + Bamboo will elevate and diversify the culinary experiences available to our guests,” said Windstar Cruises’ Chief Operations Officer Stijn Creupelandt.

“This new dining concept aligns perfectly with the sophisticated ambiance of Star Seeker and the exciting destinations she will explore.”

Windstar has revealed that Basil + Bamboo’s menu will feature selections such as miso soup, tuna tartare, and a sashimi, nigiri, and maki sampler.

Main course offerings will highlight bold flavors and premium ingredients, including miso black cod with pea purée, Jamón ibérico de Bellota, and pickled wood ear mushrooms.

Other dishes include free-range young chicken served with Jerusalem artichokes and yuzu kosho, as well as crispy Brussels sprouts glazed in Korean honey-soy.

Dessert options will feature indulgent treats like Citrus Olive Oil Cake with lemon cream and Chocolate Caramel Crémeux, accompanied by ginger-cinnamon hibiscus ice cream and sake caviar.

Onboard the Star Seeker, Basil + Bamboo will be among four other dining venues, including the main dining room Amphora, the casual Yacht Club, and Star Grill, which specializes in grilled, barbecued, and smoked meats, seafood, and vegetables.

Guests will also have access to 24-hour complimentary room service, with Amphora’s full dinner menu available for in-suite dining during dinner hours.
